'Flage Guy Posted December 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted December 13, 2019 Wow- another piece of the "Hawaiian stash" discovered years ago and disbursed throughout the collecting world. I paid about $125.00 for mine; time marches on!!
Nickman983 Posted December 13, 2019 Share #3 Posted December 13, 2019 Not surprising based on the last one that sold in this condition. I doubt you'll find many in this condition so people are willing to pay. Not for me though, I like covers that show some use.
sgtdorango Posted December 13, 2019 Share #4 Posted December 13, 2019 There was a photo of the bunch of folded up mint covers when they were found, on the forum here somewhere...very cool...mike
Justin Posted December 13, 2019 Share #5 Posted December 13, 2019 A prime example, I'd love to own an NOS 1942 spec cover. I watched this one sell in the final seconds and jumped from $510 to $695.
'Flage Guy Posted December 14, 2019 Share #6 Posted December 14, 2019 There was a photo of the bunch of folded up mint covers when they were found, on the forum here somewhere...very cool...mike Mike, I just tried a few threads to see if I could find that shot posted by Ken "General Apathy" Lewis after he purchased a bunch of them, but can't remember which one it is. However, I took the drooling liberty to copy it for my files, and here it is...

pump 150 Posted December 14, 2019 Share #12 Posted December 14, 2019 As I said with the last example sold off a few months back. Being a 9-42 spec in the golden Frogskin and still in the original factory folds....this is a Mint+. These are almost in a sub-category of their own within the USMC Frogskin covers IMO. Very nice! 'Flage Guy Posted December 14, 2019 Share #13 Posted December 14, 2019 Doesn't seem like so long ago that mint WWII Covers sold for about $35.00...but thinking about it, I guess it was a while back!
