WW2 M41 Arctic jacket modified

Hi all. I found this jacket. It is the first arctic jacket I have found. This one was modified with the removal of the sleeve adjuster straps. Also, the left sleeve has evidence of a shield patch. I assume a 2nd ID patch. The shoulder rank straps also have rank holes punched in where I assume Captain bars sat judging by the hole location. I want to throw a question to you all: does it make sense to "restore" the jacket by sewing a replacement patch and attaching rank insignia?

They are the same size and shape? I will check them out.

The three, 2nd Div, 16th and 20th Corps are similar in shape, yes, slight differences though in the contours of the shield between the three.
