vintageproductions Posted November 26, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 26, 2019 We had a footlocker walk in yesterday from a Marine who was in from 1943 - 1963. Lot's of dress type stuff, but these boots were in there. They remind me of a cross between boondockers and Beatle boots. Are they issue or private purchase? Thanks in advance. topdcnut Posted November 26, 2019 Share #2 Posted November 26, 2019 I believe they look like Molders Boots ( worn in foundry) they are easy to get off in an emergency. I wore a more modern version in the Navy in the early 80s and they were issued.
MastersMate Posted November 26, 2019 Share #3 Posted November 26, 2019 Agree, molders boots or a first cousin to them. Was able to get a hold of a pair in the mid 1980s. Great for easy off/on for shipboard wear..
QED4 Posted November 27, 2019 Share #4 Posted November 27, 2019 They look like the steel toe boots issued to army mechanics, and I am sure other jobs also, when I was in not too long after the fellow who had them.
