Finally starting to unpack summer purchases and getting around to share some stuff. This is a mint purse with some goodies inside. Most of the letters are from her man who was overseas in a medical unit in France. Had a 1945 S penny in change portion.

You are correct as that purse does look unused! She must not have liked it, usually these nearly are worn out. Nice group! Thanks for posting. Nice to have photo's, I wonder if the enlisted man is her brother, both have very high foreheads, similar features. I found a 1944 half dollar in a Navy WAVE purse once, and a 5 cent coin sewn into the sleeve of a WW II Woman Marine uniform, finally it dawned on me it was for an emergency phone call if she needed it. Any body remember pay phones?
