Nickman983 Posted November 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 15, 2019 Just got this one in the mail, picked it up because I thought it was interesting but I'm not exactly sure what it is. The holes in the net appear to be woven into it rather than cut. The paint looks like it was sprayed on, I think via a spray gun rather than a rattle can. The piece I got from the seller is huge (looks like I could almost get two helmets worth of netting if I cut it right), so I think it was likely cut down from a large piece of netting. It kind of reminds me of my shrimp net cut from Canadian vehicle netting, but overall it seems to be thicker than my Canadian net. Anyone have ideas on this one? If it's WWII era and something american troops may have come in contact with I'm thinking of throwing it on one of my lesser helmets for fun. Nickman983 Posted November 15, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted November 15, 2019 Best attempt at getting it on a helmet. As it stands now it's way too big to fit and needs to be cut down but I don't have the time to do that just yet
Nickman983 Posted November 15, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted November 15, 2019 the "front" side. This is the side the paint was applied to
Nickman983 Posted November 15, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted November 15, 2019 the "back" side. You can see in this one that the holes aren't cut but woven in.
Nickman983 Posted November 18, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted November 18, 2019 Any thoughts on this one? I ended up cutting it down some this weekend and got it to fit better on one of my helmets
ObKrieger Posted March 15, 2020 Share #6 Posted March 15, 2020 This is cut from a postwar Swiss vehicle net. The giveaway is the large twin hole and a very thick weave.
