4th Miss Cav Posted November 13, 2019 Share #1 Posted November 13, 2019 Just wanted to get some opinions as to military, non military or both. The glare on the cover is bad but the name is Henry C. Lank U. S. Air Service. Has a lot of information on everything from air pressure to piloting.
McDermut99 Posted November 13, 2019 Share #2 Posted November 13, 2019 This might be your man. From The News Journal of Wilmington, Delaware dated 22 Nov. 1917. From newspapers.com
McDermut99 Posted November 13, 2019 Share #3 Posted November 13, 2019 Ancestry has a Henry C. Lank departing for France 23 November 1917 and returning 17 February 1919. He visited home right before leaving for France. It looks as though while it may not be a U.S. military publication, it was likely used by a WWI serviceman. Judging by the ads pictured he may have bought it while overseas. Are there any ads with U.S. addresses or are they all European?

There are ads for new planes down to repair shops parts shops even welding shops. Cool little book with a lot of information
McDermut99 Posted November 13, 2019 Share #6 Posted November 13, 2019 If this is your man you got lucky research wise, this is part of the guide to World War I Records at the Delaware Public Archives: https://docplayer.net/23311442-A-guide-to-world-war-i-records-at-the-delaware-public-archives.html That letter could be very informative. Not everyone held on to letters, let alone they survive long enough to become part of an archive's collection.
