Would like to get some thoughts on this "UNIS" mark from some WWII USMC experts. Ive never seen anything like it. This is on the back of a P41 shirt. Could it be 11th Amphibian Tractor Battalion, C Company? Is the #4 the rank of the Marine? Lieutenant? Thanks in advance!

Stealth -

You are correct on all counts! Here's a similar one, named, from H&S Co. 11th.   That is really beautiful, is it named anywhere?

Best,

Bill K.

During Iwo Jima there are only 5 guys this could be - 1st Lts. Kennedy Clay Jr., Howard C. Ownbey, Oliver V. Zachem, 2nd Lts. Richard D. Kelley, Robert D. Martin.  Lt. Clay was transferred to B Co. 31 March, 1945 after promotion to 1st. Lt.

Do you own the jacket?

Best,

Bill K.
