Its a silencer around the dog tag not all that uncommon but not seen much. Beautiful insignia thanks for sharing

I was referring to the NOK tag.

Its a silencer around the dog tag not all that uncommon but not seen much. Beautiful insignia thanks for sharing

I don't know if I have ever seen lower case letters on a WWII dog tag before.  Interesting group!

I'm with Allan on the lower case letters, but it looks fine. Got a great looking patina to it which the bogus tags don't have.
