Unknown Ordnance

Picked this up on a "neat and cheap" impulse. No idea what it is, and not sure how to even begin searching.

It's over all length is 10 inches, the blue cone is 5 inches in length, and the diameter at the largest point is 65 mm. The protrusion is 20 mm and is threaded inside. It's heavy and solid. Any help would be appreciated.

That is a core to a 105mm TPDS round, very common to find. Usually found for $15-25.

Thanks, I thought it might have something to do with a sabot round. I looked it up and it seems like the protrusion at the back would be for a tracer element. Paid $12 for it, so it will make a good paper weight.

Getting harder to find, still out there but the going rate is $50-65 plus shipping on GB and eBay.
