My nephew found this helmet, and now he is curious what it is. So if somebody recognize this type of helmet we would be very helped out.

Looks like a P4 USAF flight helmet...with a later boom mic mount added sadly...but a cool helmet just the same

Thank you very much for the identification. Was this the general aviation helmet in this era or were they used within specific airplanes?

a good link for more info on the helmet...in the helmets original state, it was the standard issue helmet of that time, for the USAF...with various upgrades and modifications
