Bearmon Posted September 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2019 I picked this up off of Ebay in a grouping of patches, supposedly from the estate of Arthur Ray Hawkins it came along with a Comcarairgru 1 a VA46 and a VA12 patch. It seems legit to me as the same seller had another pair of patches up which I couldn't afford that had another VF31 and a very early Blue Angles patch. (went for over 400) So here is what believe is a WW2 VF 31 insignia they flew off the USS Cabot and the USS Belleau Wood the history of the squadron and Air group was pretty impressive. http://www.vf31.com/index.html Enjoy the insignia
Garandomatic Posted September 27, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 27, 2019 Looks like the flying meataxes to me! I recently got what I am sure is a repro to go with the aviation greens I have for a VF31 man.
