patches Posted September 27, 2019 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2019 Here's another one of those topics I love to start. This being the non standard wear of the OD on Khaki stripes on combat and field items, seen one so far, lets see more, post them as you find them as in the other topics I started with stripes. First up, a Sgt of the 2nd Division in France, wears them on his HBTs.

patches Posted March 25, 2020 Author Share #4 Posted March 25, 2020 Not on a Field Item but rather on a Wool Shirt in the States, a Officer's Chocolate Shirt no less. The GI is author James Jones when he was home on leave after being wounded on The Canal with the 25th Div.
patches Posted October 19, 2020 Author Share #5 Posted October 19, 2020 A photo that I believe was taken in Verviers in Belgium November-Early December right before going up front and before heading to the Ardennes before the German Offensive as the 99th Inf Div was stationed there as it arrived from England and the States, A Technical Sergeant, name Melville Harris, unit not known, photo from member Jeroen V. Harris who as we see is wearing the OD on Khaki strips on his coat, which by the way is one of those old WWI-1930s OD Wool Mackinaw's.
patches Posted February 27, 2021 Author Share #6 Posted February 27, 2021 Now this one is a incredible find, came across this photo posted back in 2008 by member 316th FS 324th FG, US Army Signal Depot Pirmasens West Germany in the mid (1956) to late 50s, probably just before 1958 or shortly after that year as these as they seem to be wearing the Khaki waist belts, though they should be OD 7, unless they are in fact OD 7 and are faded, Now for the operative feature of the photo, you will note the Sergeant (After 1958 Staff Sergeant) is wearing the WWII OD on Khaki Twill ranks. patches Posted May 15, 2021 Author Share #7 Posted May 15, 2021 A set of OD on Khaki Tech 4 ranks on the jump jacket we see. GI is of the 551st Parachute Infantry Battalion in the Panama Canal Zone 1943. If the wear of these on field uniforms whether in combat or in a combat zone were atypical, their wear in a garrison setting was even more so
