UGH! M43 Jackets at Normandy 1944 and what are those other jackets supposed to be? M36 suspenders look like they're on inside out. And the patches? No thanks.

"The day that changed the world", they were right about that. What are they even wearing on their heads!! Not like any wartime M1 I have ever seen....

General Apathy

.

Combat jackets . . . . . . .

the one jacket has been identified successfully by forum members as a US M-51 jacket, and below is the identification of the other style of jacket with sloping flaps, Dutch army 1960's.

I am not suggesting at this point that the Rangers wore M-43 jackets on D-Day, but to clarify the date that M-43's jackets can be seen in Normandy then take a look at this D+1 photo of the 2nd Infantry Division coming off Omaha beach June 7th, M43 jackets are visible.

We believe the dark tops are in fact M43 OD HBT shirts.

But more to the point, just found this site with a few D-Day Plus 1 2nd Div photos,to include the marching up the hill photo. No M43 FJ's but a many M43 OD HBT's, that's including the marching up the hill one. Photos are high quality, and if you Save them to your Documents/Picture they ZOOM in very clear to see the close up details.

Movie looks like the rest of the HORRIBLE slop that HOLLYWEIRD puts out! I could stand for bad acting if at least they could get the period uniforms and detail close. Lets face it, B movies are all we will get with the low budget these movies get. Shows like the Pacific, and Band of Brothers where such great productions because of the finance of Spielberg and Hanks. What ever happened to the miniseries HBO was coming out with called THE MIGHTY EIGTH on the AAC in Europe during WW2 ??? That looked promising even though much of it will be CGI.
