BILL THE PATCH Posted September 9, 2019 Share #2 Posted September 9, 2019 Post war, it looks fully emb?, 50's or 60's I believe. Let see what other think Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
Allan H. Posted September 9, 2019 Share #3 Posted September 9, 2019 The wing is undoubtedly post WWII manufacture and the fact that it is fully embroidered is also rather unusual as these were normally embroidered on black twill in the 1950's and 1960's. To me, this one looks Japanese made, and could even date to the Vietnam period. The fact that it has been sewn to an OD wool shirt is a real head-scratcher as I don't believe that this piece would have been worn while the OD wool shirt was still prescribed for wear. BILL THE PATCH Posted September 10, 2019 Share #7 Posted September 10, 2019 Looks like a 50's o 60's twill shirt? Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
Allan H. Posted September 10, 2019 Share #8 Posted September 10, 2019 I guess that if it is olive drab twill then it must have been worn on a Boy Scout uniform. My personal feeling is that someone was trying to make this very post WWII patch appear to be a WWII piece. Allan
BILL THE PATCH Posted September 10, 2019 Share #9 Posted September 10, 2019 I knew I seen that color somewhere, the boy scout green. Like mentioned above I only seen the emb on twill ones. Never a emb one. Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Tapatalk
