JakeBird6684 Posted August 25, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 25, 2019 Hi All, Two weeks ago was the Elkorn flea market in Wisconson and I need help identifying some of the pickups ive made. First up is a pre-WW2 west point cadet tail coat named and dated. It either reads J. W. Gaddis or W. Gadding, and has a date of 1923. I researched the name as best as I could, but turned out empty handed. I was hoping a fourm member would have a copy of The Howitzer from 1923 to help out my research. Any info given would be greatly appreciated.
JakeBird6684 Posted August 25, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted August 25, 2019 Next up is a fifth army Ike jacket with a cross stitching pattern, It came with a corroded ordanace collar disk in the front pocket. There is only a laundry number inside, so it is a longshot to get a name.
JakeBird6684 Posted August 25, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted August 25, 2019 Third, I picked up an Adsec Ike jacket with an 8th infantry patch as well, The ribbon bar on the jacket has a purple heart and the good conduct medal with some sort of barbed wire on it. This soldier has a medical collar disk and inside the front pocket came another technician patch. On the inside jacket pocket there is a picture that i'm not 100% is the original owners, but whats saying it's not real. The laundry numer reads S-4081 and the name STEVE is also written inside of the jacket.
JakeBird6684 Posted August 25, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted August 25, 2019 Last but not least is a 20th army air corps jacket that I had absoulutly no luck researching. Maybe other fourm members will have better luck than me. There was a Tag on the inside that read Daaf DaleHart.
Mr.Jerry Posted August 25, 2019 Share #5 Posted August 25, 2019 Hey nice meeting you there! The one jacket that you picked up from us, the "barbed wire" are actually "knots" for multiple awards of the good conduct medal. It looks like I need to check the pockets better too!
