Hello

What is the best way to preserve a ww2 US bayonet. Renissance Wax, or oil? I have used both in the past, and was wondering what is the best way to stop rust and preserve the bayonet? Both have seemed to work. Oil like Remington oil is a little easier to apply than the wax..

Thank you..

I've been using gun oil since they are a blued / parkerized item. Need to clean up a couple that got rusty on me before I got them oiled but haven't done it yet. :( Fairly certain they did not have so much when I got them and that I can fix it so as just to remove the rust. Ren wax has good reviews but haven't tried it. Probably worth a shot. Let us know if you do, how it goes.

Thank you for the help.

I have used rem wax for a couple of years. seems to work well...

I usually use the rem wax on dress bayonets, swords, etc. I have used gun oil (rem oil) on the parkerized items...

Just was wondering what people are doing, and what seems to work best..
