mortaydc60 Posted August 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 23, 2019 This sold on eBay recently for close to $500. At first glance it looks good front and back, but I remember back in the 1970's at an ASMIC convention these were out and caused a big debate as to wether they were good or not. I am in the NOT group and present this to forum for their opinion and as aid in what to watch out for. My reasons for not liking the patch are mainly the eye on the eagle is wrong and the merrow edge does not look correct in that it is too wide. Would like to hear from others. John4022 Posted August 23, 2019 Share #3 Posted August 23, 2019 Heres the back. I was watching this one as well and I also have suspicions of it. This one certainly scares me...

ocsfollowme Posted August 24, 2019 Share #7 Posted August 24, 2019 sold by time-traveler-1914 Not a good war time patch, period. Known originals are all merrowed edge. Why take a chance?
Bill Scott Posted August 24, 2019 Share #8 Posted August 24, 2019 There are so many things wrong with that patch it is a shame some one got hoodwinked on it.Here is a good one image taken from TOP Kick Militaria website.Compare them closely and see the differences.Scotty

Unglesbeemj Posted September 19, 2019 Share #12 Posted September 19, 2019 Just to be clear, blue twill material used for the background is correct? I have been offered one with blue twill material like the example in #1, but it has the eagle design details of the original example Bill posted. I am looking to purchase an original for my collection, but being relatively new to US Airborne insignia (and this forum) proceeding with caution. Have images of the front/back but not sure I am able to post being new to the forum. Mike
