wwnuttycollector Posted August 18, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 18, 2019 Help Needed IDing This WW1 (?) Medal I've had this in my militaria for years, and never bothered to research it It obviously is for the Great War, but is it period correct? For the first time I noticed (using a magnification) that it appears to be engraved on the edge "8-2D651 PTE. A. C. STEWART. GORDONS." Can anyone help identify this? Is it original? THANKS! KurtA Posted August 18, 2019 Share #4 Posted August 18, 2019 The medal itself (WW1 Victory Medal) is extremely common. It's all about the unit that generates interest (and value). Yours being for the Gordon Highlanders makes it more interesting. The other World Forum would be the place to post it - perhaps a collector of UK medals could provide more insight. Ribbons for these are very easy to find. It would be a nice addition to your medal (just have to find a suitable ring)
