Rifleman Posted August 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 17, 2019 I've seen, over the years, several M1910 picks with only "U S E D" stamped on the side of the pick itself. What does this stand for?Is it United States Engineer Department?Anybody know? thorin6 Posted August 17, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 17, 2019 As best I know the US Engineer Department was the proponent for picks and shovels before WW1. The picks marked USED pre-date WW1, but not sure of their history. I have one I obtained from my Father-in-Law that he had from the 1920s when he was a kid. Slightly larger than the WW! and WW2 ones.
