Need help! WWII Graduation Pilot Wings

Dear all,

I bought this Pilot Wings almost 25 years ago as a WWII original and I would like to confirm whether it is a period item or not and, if not, how I could identify it regarding the correct period.

Could you, please, help me on this?

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Alex.

Looks like the real deal to me. What do the clutches look like? Modern with raised nubs? Or flat ?

Either way the wing looks ww2... maybe pre ww2 ? What do the edges look like ?

Looking at the way the posts are attached, I'd say late war or post war. Others can check me on this.. But those look like electric welded posts.

I would say wartime based on those short posts and the way the fasteners sit tight to back of the wing

There is no way to tell as far as I am concerned if this is a WWII or KW wing. But that really doesn't matter much, in my opinion. It is very nice and you can date it any way you want, I think.

It has a great patina. These aren't that valuable, but it would look fantastic on a uniform as well as in a display case.
