albatrosdva Posted August 10, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 10, 2019 A small glimpse of the artifacts in a scrapbook from PFC John Edward Siddall, Jr. (later CWO, retiring in the early '60s). He was a medical technician in the Medical Detachment of the 544th Engineer Boat & Shore Regiment, 4th Engineer Special Brigade. The most shocking piece to find, in my opinion, is the plan of the day for the invasion of Lingayen Gulf, Luzon. Also included is lots of pictures (lots of dead people, I guess as a medical engineer he detached from the 544th and went where the fighting was), most of his paperwork and an incredibly rare unit history (considering the list of last names in the unit history is only 64 names I doubt 100 unit histories were ever printed!), Philippine flag, etc.
