Old Marine Posted August 9, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 9, 2019 This is going to be a 3 man .50 caliber outpost guarding a crossroad somewhere in the Ardennes during the winter of 1944-45. Because this is going to be a static, defensive position I started with the MG and dugout first. Once I figured out the terrain I could them make the figures fit to the environment rather than building the terrain around already built figures. Anyway, this is pretty simple, a piece of bass wood, layers of foam board to build up the hill and then covered the foam board with air dry clay. I put a drop of super glue to hold the barbs in place and then trimmed them off after it was in place. It's not exact or perfect but it visually gives the idea of barbed wire. I see you're sandbag technique is up to its standards and the barb wire looks very realistic. It's starting to feel very cold in this dio. It must be Dec. 15, 1944.
