The Marines were really the first to use Helicopters in making troop movements don't you know, a concept they termed Vertical Envelopment. Here's a mid 50s photo from CB Colby's 1957 book LEATHERNECK that shows such training, I think these are of the 2nd Mar Div at Lejeune.

Would these Helicopters be Blue? They look Blue like the Navy and Marine Corps Aircraft of the period right!
