PaulS Posted August 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2019 I was wondering when this LC 2 canteen cover made? Was it an experimental contract? The cover does not have the usual DLA contract information but rather "PROJECT ORDER NUMBER 7026". It also says it comes from the "DEFENSE PERSONAL SUPPORT CENTER". I this similar to a depot made item? I have seen M56 gear without DSA contract numbers but a simple cont. number. The M56 canteen cover I have has a cont. number of 9122. milsurp_scout_14 Posted August 6, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 6, 2019 The Defense Personnel Support Center shows up on a fair amount of gear of all sorts that I've seen, including fatigues, M1956, and ALICE gear. It is the former Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot. They made batches of supplemental gear as needed, hence the Project Order number.
