aerocollector2014 Posted August 4, 2019 Share #1 Posted August 4, 2019 Hi , I acquired this grouping and wondered if anyone could kindly enlighten me on what the DUI badges are , and if these relate to the presidential bar which were with the group. Many thanks for your kind assistance Steve
Rakkasan187 Posted August 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted August 4, 2019 Steve, The 2 DUIs with the Star in the center are for the 48th Field Artillery Battalion and the one in the center is for the 133rd Field Artillery. I don't have the lineage history for the award of the PUC but I do know that the 48th FA was in Korea during the war.. Source: ASMIC Artillery Catalog, September 1979, page 99 (133rd FA) Source: ASMIC Trading Post (Korean War 50th Anniversary Issue) April-June 2000, page 27 (Army DIs of the Korean War) Leigh
Rakkasan187 Posted August 4, 2019 Share #3 Posted August 4, 2019 I have an additional update. In the April-June 1989 ASMIC Trading Post, on page 35 there is a section titled New Distinctive Insignia and Recent Discoveries: The 133rd Field Artillery which was identified was redesignated as the 132nd Field Artillery (Texas National Guard) omn January 18, 1989. The original design for the 133rd DUI was approved on November 16, 1969.. Thought I would add this additional information for you.. I was looking for another DUI and came across this one.. Rakkasan187 Posted August 5, 2019 Share #5 Posted August 5, 2019 Steve, You are most welcome.. I will try to get you the lineage information for the 2 units to see if the PUC was awarded to either of them.. I am guessing that the 48th FA would have been awarded the PUC's but not sure..
