He thinks - but not sure - that these may have been used to identify military cargo, possibly WW2 era. Was considering that these may have been affixed to cargo/crates. Recognizing that metals were primarily used for the war effort, these feel like brass - have a little heft to them. Each has a stamping of numbers and letters on one side, and roman numerals on the other. Is anybody here familiar with these? Are they merely tokens towards something else (subway)?
