Nearest pre-existing thread was for the carbine scabbard

http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/221325-m1-carbine-scabbard

which included this link (see scabbards http://www.theliberator.be/liberator2.htm )

Per this post ( http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/54487-m1903-rifle-scabbard/?hl=%2Bgarand+%2Bcavalry&do=findComment&comment=401206 ), 1903 Springfield scabbards were initially fitted with brass channels to accommodate the Garand's bolt handle.

While these scabbards were for use with horses (the 26th Cavalry had them http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/98468-last-cavalry-charge/&do=findComment&comment=726516 ), motorcycles and jeeps I wasn't able to find any period photos of how the scabbards were strapped to jeeps.
