I would think the barrel date would be close to the date Skip gave you.....Original factory barrel of course.....Bodes

Bodes is right about the barrel. The receiver was manufactured in June of 1943, but most of the WW2 SAs that I have seen have replacement barrels dated in the 50s, some in the 60s. If you have a 43 dated barrel that's pretty cool. So, pull the bolt to the rear, look at the exposed part of the barrel between the hand guard & the stock, just in front of the receiver. You should see a date ie; SA 6 43, or say SA 10 53,for a post war rebuild. SKIP

Inspector mark on stock. Port side underneath rear receiver typically. Most times they've been scrubbed or restocked. They can also be very faint. Maybe 3/4" square with initials in the square. I'll take a pic of a couple stock marks later
