Lieutenant Helmet ID help please

I recently picked up this rusty lieutenant helmet set. Laundry Mark is on both the chinstrap and liner (T-7345). Liner is a Westinghouse with early flat buckle chinstrap. Looks period repainted and repaired bails.

 

Can anyone help me identify the soldier by the laundry Mark?

There's 29 men that share that laundry number. Might be kind of hard to narrow that down.

Thank you for this information. It came out of Waterboro. ME. I noticed that all of these men were listed as the rank of Private. Would there been different enlistment records for officers?

It’s possible that enlisted men whose laundry marks appear in that database may have later been commissioned as an officer. Also, remember that the Army recycled clothing and equipment. We have probably all seen trousers and jackets with multiple different laundry marks stamped on them. The mark on your helmet may have been from someone else before it was picked up and used by the Lieutenant. I’m thinking that in the absence of further identifying information it will be pretty hard to determine who that helmet actually belonged to.

I carefully untangled the liner chinstrap last night. It was just supple enough to put back into place.

I was going to say the same thing. my 34th red bull captains's lid was just that way. he went in enlisted an went up in rank to captain. that could be his enlisted number on the liner and strap then when promoted the LT bar was added.

It could be a laundry number based off of his officer serial number too, dont rule that out. I have personally had two officer helmets that were marked that way.
