101st screaming eagle patch - real? era?

I have spent a lot of time in the eagle patch corner of Mark Bando's excellent Trigger Time site, but I didn't see this bird. Dark blue based base material make me think post war, but was this a pattern even used or is it just a copy trying to look like one of the WW2 examples?

Thanks!

Jerry

In one of Mark Bando's previous listings this is described as a post war Type 15 or lumpy head parrot beak patch. I got mine at a flea market that I saw a vendor wearing on a M-1965 field jacket. I asked him if he was wiling to sell me just the shoulder patch and he agreed. He wore this jacket while a member of the 101st Airborne Division. I believe the fact that this was on this jacket which didn't come out until 1965 and the dark blue base material indicates a late 1960s to 1970s era piece.
