Persian Gulf Command Posted July 15, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2019 I believe this is an example of a very well made Reproduction Parachute First Aid Kit, which were made in the 80's. They have fooled many over the years. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ww2-us-airborne-first-aid-kit-original-unopened-with-full-content/392335959947?hash=item5b590ba78b:g:PssAAOSwiN1dJzB5 Its is receiving much attention with 2+ days left. Persian Gulf Command Posted July 15, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted July 15, 2019 The First Aid Kit in question was a Repro made many years ago by an individual who used old poncho material. I know there have been threads that have discussed this. Given the age of these old repros they are more convincing and unfortunately this is only going to be more problematic with time. This photo is definitive for anyone who would like a Real WW2 period Parachute First Aid Kit. The close up illustrates the weave and texture of the components. The font of the "First Aid Kit" is important but the textiles used is the most important indicator.
Persian Gulf Command Posted July 15, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted July 15, 2019 Another real one note the textile texture:
