rathbonemuseum.com Posted July 7, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 7, 2019 Hi, Custom converted LGB pilot with what seems to be a former pinback General officer cap or shirt star. Piece of metal welded as connector and backstop.

5thwingmarty Posted July 14, 2019 Share #8 Posted July 14, 2019 What is the radius of the star? I think the spec called for a 1/4" radius star mounted 1/16" above the top of the shield, but many of the factory made senior wings failed to follow the spec. The stars on Josten Senior wings are oversized at 5/32". The Meyer star on stilts on my wing has the right diameter but is mounted more than 1/16" above the shield. Dondero Senior wings have undersized stars at 3/16" but they are the right height above the shield. I also have an issue Senior wing whose star is per the spec.
