mds308 Posted July 3, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2019 Last weekend I found this USAF straw campaign hat in its original box. The price was rediculously low so I had to say yes. I was looking for confirmation. My research has concluded that the straw hat was reintroduced in 2003. The black cord was for the 'Squadron Trainer' for the 'New MTI.' Does this mean a trainer for a new drill instructor? This black rope/cord was introduced in 2004 and discontinued in 2007. Can anybody add some more info or is this about it? Thanks. flyboy53 Posted July 25, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 25, 2019 I suspect it is a newer uniform hat. I'd go by the dates on the box. I suspect the hat was purchased at Kel-Lac uniforms in San Antonio.
