Bill Scott Posted July 3, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 3, 2019 These two came together and the one I am questioning is the one on the left.I have over 40 years handled thousands of CBI patches.Has any one seen one like the left one They both have soft silk thread construction but the Larger one is a variation I do not think I have ever seen.Your comments are appreciated Thanks.Scotty
walika Posted July 4, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 4, 2019 Bill, I have not seen one like the example on the top, with the marrow or rolled edge. It's intriguing with the gauze on the back, a typical period method of manufacture which might suggest correct vintage. It's machine stitched rather than hand-embroidered making me wonder if it might be a stateside piece made for domestic distribution. The brown cross stitching over the red and white is a bit weird. Is the blue material a wool cloth? Have a wonderful Independence Day. Rick
