garrettbragg12 Posted July 2, 2019 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2019 I’m about to finish up “Spearhead” and have an itch for reading about WW1 tank crews. Does anyone have any book recommendations that are based off first hand accounts? Thanks in advance!
world war I nerd Posted July 2, 2019 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2019 This is the only published account that I'm aware of. I've yet to have a look at it, but it's on my list of books to acquire. It was published in August of 1918 and is 312 pages in length. It's priced at around $45.00, give or take. It's likely available from all the usual sources, including Amazon. Apparently all of the AEF's tank commanders were told to write reports on their personal experience with the tanks in combat. The first-hand reports were then promptly forgotten until the author/editor unearthed them while researching something else. The result of his discovery is, well ... this book. if anyone has it, or has read it, please let us know if you give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down, and please tell us why you liked it or didn't.
