I remember seeing the original in the new surround sound. It was my favorite movie! Not sure any remake can top that one but I will still have to check this one out.

I hope it isn't like Red Tails. It kind of has the same look, but I'll probably go see it in theaters!

Daayaaamm. Been waiting for the trailer for this for months now. Super excited. Looks like they did an amazing job... Big shoes to fill from the original... Thank you for posting this.

Looks great! The problem with the first one was all the use of inaccurate ships, etc. which for me took away some of the attraction of this epic tale. Same with the last Pearl Harbor movie.Sometimes its a disadvantage to be a history/militaria collector geek when watching movies. Look forward to seeing this one.

WWII Parachutist

Very excited to see some of the first views of how it actually turned out. No doubt some of the CGI will be improved when it is released in theaters, as this is just a teaser trailer

I think CGI for a move of this scope is a given anymore. Kind of hard to find a bunch of WWII flattops and divebombers to do it live action. I am looking forward to watching it! I just hope the story line follows historical accuracy unlike the horrible movie " Pearl Harbor".

A trailer from the 1976 production, for comparison:

I haven't seen this movie in ages. Forgot what a cast that it had!

Not bad... I have seen the trailers for "Dauntless" and hoped this wasn't the same. Dauntless appears to have a much lower budget and much more cliche. Trailer just really didn't do it for me.

Midway might be pretty good.

Watching the trailer I was wondering if the two heroes from "Pearl Harbor" were showing up in another battle leading up to their dropping the atom bomb from the 'Enola Gay'. They were those kind of guys! LOL Of course I'll see it as soon as it comes out. Bobgee

You mean the P-40 pilots who were so skilled they were recruited to fly B-25's off the deck of the USS Hornet for the Doolittle Raid?

Where, indeed, do we find such men?

Keeping my fingers crossed. Last Spring, fabricated some telescopic sites and a few other things for their aircraft. From my perspective, it looked like they were trying to get most things right. I guess we'll find out in November! ;) Rob

The CGI is horrible.

Cheap and cheesy

The wake of ships ......

Uuuuuuugh

I smell a Ben Aleck Pearl Harbor level of crap.

So sad and a cheesy dumbing up level of stuffed war garbage.

The ANJ flight jackets look like they were made for 12 inch scale action figures

Sad all round

I work for one of the wardrobe rental houses out here in CA and know the costumer who sourced the wardrobe. He's a great guy and know that he made every effort to get the gear correct. He and I discussed at length what they would have worn during this early period of the war: (chambray shirts and dungarees, modfied deck helmets with MkI goggles or Rockglass private purchase, MkI vests, rigger made items, etc) and with his time constraints and budgetary concerns, I know he did the best he could. I agree that the aircraft physics look like a video game and really wish they would stop this kind of nonsense. Such a huge disservice to our men and women in uniform. If you want to see an incredible film about aerial warfare, check out The Battle of Britain from 1969...IMHO, the BEST dogfight scenes ever to capture the chaos of a aerial combat.

About which ANJ jacket you are talking about? ANJ did't exist in early war. You mean M422 and M422a?

It is only a trailer and very early trailer so hold on with such a judgement.... Pilots and aircrews looks very good in first perspective without any fantastic items and errors...

Can't wait to see full movie in cinema anyway.

Cheers,

Jerry

Really? As much as you bitched about everyone else's comments about Fury, you are going to play this game.

I'd say it's just the angle it's seen at in the screen capture I provided earlier. Below is another view, showing the same actor (center) wearing the same jacket. Note the man at the right of the photo has a jacket with a lighter colored collar. There was some variation in details among the contractor's who made these jackets originally. The second photo looks similar to an original to my eyes, for what it's worth.

Of course, that was filmed with REAL aircraft. It makes a difference. Even in that movie, f you watch the sequences with the radio controlled replica JU-87 Stukas divebombing the coastal radar station, you can see how they just seem to jerk around like puppets on a string.

There was a book written at the time, The Making of the Battle of Britain that tells how they gathered and refurbished the aircraft. It was a fascinating operation on its own.
