In a french forum they posted a pic of a M1911 mag pouch with EGA snaps in place of the usual eagle snaps. It's a real thing or a photoshop job?

It's probably legit....such a thing does exist. Pre WW1 USMC web gear had those Marine Corps specific eagle snaps and they typically sell for HUGE money

I own one of the pistol magazine pockets which replaced the USMC eagle snap pocket. It looks the same but has LTD fasteners and is marked on the inside "USMC / PHILA DEPOT". The ones marked "USMC" on the outside of the flap are bogus.

Bogus like this mint Russell 1918. French friends posted also these nice pics of a RIA 1913 Sam Browne with EGA snap and of the "U.S.M.C. PHILA. DEPOT" from the 1930s.

Here's another way of creating a bogus Marine magazine pouch out of a standard WWI contactor pouch. Also, a closer view of the Marine eagle snap.

Am I correct about the bogus nature on the pouch?

USMC_clips_pouch_1.jpg Hello to all from Belleau Wood area France,

This pouch exist, being very scarce to find, since they didn't made lot of them , the one I present you here was found in France many years ago, but not doubt that I was very lucky to find it, it is now a part of the collection of Belleau Wood Museum in France. Pouch is made by Mills and dated from 1916. I will try to post some other pictures from it.

Best to All,

Hellwood France,
