5thwingmarty Posted June 11, 2019 Share #1 Posted June 11, 2019 These two photos were in an album I recently picked up. Lots of decent photos but no captions to identify any of the people or places shown. I believe the tall man on the left in both photos is F.Q. Wilson. I have no idea who the others are or where this was taken, but it looks like the woman is going to hop in and take the plane for a spin.
Bodes Posted June 11, 2019 Share #2 Posted June 11, 2019 Maybe the woman is Ruth Elder?..Bodes http://www.ctie.monash.edu.au/hargrave/images/elder_2_500.jpg

5thwingmarty Posted June 11, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted June 11, 2019 I'm not sure if this is the same plane, but the dark paint and stars on the wings on this plane are the only matches in the photos I have to the photos with the woman, other than one shot where the plane is rolling over and diving away. I don't see the same cowling latches on this plane though. The shapes of the wing tips and tail appear to be the same.
