Hello to all,

Having acquired a reproduction of M1A1 Bazooka, i would like to build myself a flash deflector, but need measurements to do so

Do you have the larger ring and smaller ring size ?

Same question for the screwed piece that allwos the deflector to be fixed with the bazooka itself

Thanks for your help

The wire that forms the outer ring is made from .075" diameter wire and looks to be about .150-.160" after the screen material is wrapped around and bonded to it. The outside diameter of the large ring is 7 7/8". There is no inner ring but the steel screen wraps around and is bonded to the inside of the flat steel band that clamps over the launcher tube. The screen does not appear to be soldered but I think was compressed and electrically spot welded/bonded to the ring and clamp band.

The band is about 2.5" inside to match the outside diameter of the bazooka tube. The band is made from 1/2" wide, .030" thick steel banding. It is clamped using a 10-32 X 5/8" slotted round head screw with split lock washer and hex nut.

The overall length from front to back of the whole assembly is 2 1/2".

I'm not sure if the original type screen is available anymore but the mesh is 18 X 18 (squares per inch) and made with .015" wire.

Hope that helps.

Just be aware that some reproduction bazookas were made slightly smaller as to not be able to load a real rocket.
