collector Posted May 25, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2019 A friend emailed me and said he saw a picture taken during the battle of Okinawa. One of the Marines is my father. The original was submitted by the the son of another of the Marines, and concerned the Thompson submachine gun his father carried. The gentleman was kind enough to send me a scan of the shot, and here it is. My father is in the lower right corner, no helmet. He was XO of the 2/7.See some additional links including his Bronze Star citation from Okinawa. http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11539-usmc-medal-group-wphotos/ http://www.usmilitariaforum.com/forums/index.php?/topic/278031-okinawa-map/
