Desertrat Posted May 23, 2019 Share #1 Posted May 23, 2019 I found this as I was going through the wreckage of my garage. I picked it up in an abandoned Supply trailer in the middle of the Iraqi desert, 1991.
Allan H. Posted May 23, 2019 Share #2 Posted May 23, 2019 That is REALLY cool. Iraqi army fatigue shirt new in the Iraqi military marked packaging. I believe that they used British sizing, so a 17 is a pretty good sized shirt. I recall one of my soldiers asking me why the Iraqis put Pacman on their stuff? trenchfoot Posted May 23, 2019 Share #3 Posted May 23, 2019 Nice shirt! The Jihm mark says that it is for the Iraqi Popular Army, which makes it better!

Please elaborate on the Iraqi Popular Army. The other uniforms I picked up were Republican Guard.
ScottG Posted May 24, 2019 Share #6 Posted May 24, 2019 The Jihm is just a military acceptance mark for the Iraqi military, much like a British Broad Arrow. It can be found on any piece of clothing or equipment. Has nothing specific to do with the Popular Army or the Republican Guard. There are however items specifically marked for the Republican Guard. Scott You are correct on what the the Jihm mark is, but what is written inside the jihm mark does actually tell you what branch of the Iraqi military it was contacted for. What is written inside the jihm mark on the OP's shirt is the abbreviation for the popular army.
