USS GENERAL J. C. BRECKENRIDGE Ship Official Seal 1940-50

Solid Brass approx. 1 3/4 inch diameter and 1/4 inch thick (not counting tit that fits into impression tool). I've seen official papers with the ship's seal applied but never the embosser seal itself. (I guess that is what it is called, as is one for Notary and Corporation papers). I tried to rub it to get info *Department of the Navy* U.S.S. GEN.J.C.BRECKENRIDGE* but did not turn out too well. Thought you would like to see it I bought this as my Uncle John Charles Breckenridge Marquette was named after Gen'l. Breckenridge who used to stay at my Great Grandfather's farm when passing thru Short Creek Ky. Richard

I made one of my Pacific crossings to the Far East on this ship during the 50's.
