WW1 US TC Patch

Recent photo in a group from a WW1 veteran.He was originally from West Virginia.

 

The photo shows a small group of men all wearing a shield shaped patch on the pull over shirts.

 

THe patch has US TC on the shield.Im wondering of its for United States Training Camp ?

 

Any info or additions feel free to post.

Unless I'm missing something, I believe what you're seeing are the barrels of their 03's

oopps!! yeah, you are correct! I see the front sling swivel. I was looking at the second enlarged pic... the first pic shows the rifle clearly.
