A classic, USMC issued "Smokey Bear" Campaign hat as used by Drill Instructors in basic training during a recruit's journey on earning the coveted title. This particular hat is a little dirty, but in overall good condition. It's been marked twice to a GySgt. Halley on the hat's sweatband. Also present are two acronyms, I.I.F.T.M.D. (If I Fail This Marine Dies) and P.P.P.P.P.P.P. (Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance). A striking hat with a lot of history and sentiment behind it, worn by someone who transformed boys to men and prepared them for the rigors of war.
