Does this have a chance of being military?

I picked this up today at the flea market for a buck on the off chance that it might be military.  It looks like the mascot of some high school sports team or something along those lines but you never know.  Anyone recognize this?  It measures 7 inches in height.

Looks old but the backing material is not one that Ive seen with other military chenille patches

Thanks for your input and the gray backing is sort of like a very thin almost foam like material.

More likely a sports team.

Since it came out of your area, could it be Stanford related as they use an Indian warrior?

I checked a number of sports teams that utilize or utilized an American Indian as their sports mascot and the closet I could find to match these colors was Alcorn University.  What I didn't realize until searching the web was how many sports teams have dropped their Indian mascot to include Stanford University.
