cerick1450 Posted April 30, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 30, 2019 Hello I recently picked up a Photo album of a WW2 soldier from the 84th CML Battalion. He has the 84th rocker glued to the front of his photo album, and a 10th Mt div. patch glued to one of the interior pages. The album is full of pictures of his service and misc German and Italian soldiers and cities.. Are the 84th patches rare to find? Thank you

JerseyDevil117 Posted April 30, 2019 Share #3 Posted April 30, 2019 Ive never seen a twill variation before. But for just a tab the fully embroidery version brings a decent price tag.
ocsfollowme Posted April 30, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 30, 2019 I am still a newbie in theatre made ones. Traditional 84th ones are fully embroidered. I have seen several Korean War era ones in twill that were made somewhere. Wondering if this is one of those from that time period?
cerick1450 Posted April 30, 2019 Author Share #5 Posted April 30, 2019 I am assuming this is a period patch. The album has dates, and photo's through the end of WW2 in 1945. Nothing newer than 1945.. It has a number of photo's from Italy (Gioia de colle), and captured German soldier photo's.. There is also a distinguished service wreath patch for unit citation in the album as well. Wake1941 Posted April 30, 2019 Share #6 Posted April 30, 2019 Not really I fan, there was a huge wave of fake Twill CMB patches. Ive never seen a real one, could be a reunion piece as well
cerick1450 Posted April 30, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted April 30, 2019 Any way to tell?
ocsfollowme Posted April 30, 2019 Share #8 Posted April 30, 2019 Any way to tell? unfortunately it would require removing the patch. Do not do that. Wait to hear from an experience chemical collector.
lamarhooten Posted April 30, 2019 Share #9 Posted April 30, 2019 Scrapbooks/photo albums can be made at anytime. I wonder if this was made a few years after the soldiers time in. This opinion because the patch does indeed looks like a later Korean era made 84th patch.
cerick1450 Posted April 30, 2019 Author Share #10 Posted April 30, 2019 I dont know. The photo's start (dated) 1936, of family friends homes, etc, then morph into WW2 soldiers, places, such as gioia De Colle Italy. There are a few German soldiers...both glued in and loose.. It doesn't give me any indication that it was a later put together. Here are a few more pics...
cerick1450 Posted April 30, 2019 Author Share #11 Posted April 30, 2019 There are also slips of paper with names and addresses of his ww2 buddies. I do not see any modern addresses or phone numbers included...
