Robert Carson emigrated to the U.S. from England. At 34 years old he enlisted in the 72nd New York. His occupation on his muster roll was as clerk. He was transferred to Division H.Q.and worked as Master Clerk. In March of 63 he transferred to Division Ambulance Corp. He served in this capacity thru all the units battles including Chancellorsville , Gettysburg and Grants overland campaign. Ending his enlistment at Petersburg on September 14 ,1864.He died in 1881 of pneumonia. This is one of the nicest Corps Badges I have and probably one of the earliest in my collection. post-137056-0-24416400-1556139143_thumb.jpeg

BBmilitaria thanks for the kind comments. I hope sharing my collection here will help others to not make mistakes when buying corps badges .Also the badges tend to reflect the pride of these men in their unit and what they were doing and I enjoy sharing them. Thanks again. Mike

Thanks Frank and mdk0911. Carson is my grandmothers maiden name and I was hopeful he was related. But if so I could not find a link. Thanks again for the kind comments. Mike
