MAP1 Posted April 16, 2019 Share #1 Posted April 16, 2019 I picked this Blood Chit up a few years back. As you can see, it has been framed a very long time ago. I dare not take it out but on close inspection it appears to be a rough silk hand embroidered with cotton or wool type thread. Overall condition is very good but will some fading. I'm sure this hung on the wall in a Vet's basement next to his tiki bar as evidenced by the musty smell and minor mold spots on the exterior of the glass (which I would not clean) Now it's up on the wall in my war room. Other than that, I don't know much about it. Assume it is an in theater made piece. New here....and still figuring out how the heck to reduce file sizes to fit as well as arrange them on the page. I might have over done it a bit and they might be a bit too small....If so, I will try again. Regards, Michael
BeckettM101 Posted April 23, 2019 Share #2 Posted April 23, 2019 Nice. This is the first original WWII embroidered blood chit I've seen. Do you think the grey on the Chinese flag was blue originally? It looks faded on my screen.
MAP1 Posted April 24, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted April 24, 2019 Thanks Beckett. Yes, it is a faded blue. Taking a photo of it behind the glass was difficult and washes it out even more.
