doyler Posted April 15, 2019 Share #4 Posted April 15, 2019 What was the reason it was on display, shows only very common patches? What difference does it make?...Im sure the museum doesn't care whether the patches are common or not.If it belonged to a veteran that's all that should matter not that there some rare valuable patches or not.Judt nice to see it not cut up or stripped. Most of these jackets seem to be made by Army Nurses or Red Cross workers who collected the patches during the war.I have know a couple nurses who collected patches while in England then Europe. They tell a story and Im sure a museum is more interested in history than its monetary value. mortaydc60 Posted April 16, 2019 Share #5 Posted April 16, 2019 Thought that perhaps I may have been missing something of significance about the jacket. I do not usually think of museums of showing mundane items but rather items that are unusual and or have some historical significance or personage associated with the artifact. 12A54 Posted April 16, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted April 16, 2019 I think it was a temporary or revolving display, not in a case.
firefighter Posted April 19, 2019 Share #7 Posted April 19, 2019 Is that a 6 cog TD patch?
mortaydc60 Posted April 19, 2019 Share #8 Posted April 19, 2019 Looks like it might be the 6 wheel that you do not want. The wheels are of different sizes, you want the one with all wheels same size.
