superchief Posted June 19, 2019 Share #51 Posted June 19, 2019 Really nice work, the attention to paint detail makes it a winner.
ArtyScout Posted June 24, 2019 Author Share #52 Posted June 24, 2019 Hey everyone, I'm glad you enjoyed the pics of the finished M48. These are the preliminary pics of my figures. The commander, loader, gunner and driver. I will admit that the driver looks either mad or crazy, but I'm leaving him like that. I still have to put on their helmet mikes, paint a couple of wrist watches, possibly add a scratchbuilt pair of dog tags and give them a little more weathering. I hope you like them and as always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated. Semper Fi. Manny

ArtyScout Posted July 3, 2019 Author Share #56 Posted July 3, 2019 Hello everyone, its been busy on my end with family and so on; so my work has progressed slowly. I did get some things done. Thank you for your comments. The figures are 95% done for if I need to tweak anything then I will. Mike you will be happy to know that I have them sitting in a more comfortable setting; maybe. They have just been placed not attached permanently but I like the way they look. Also canteens have been added to help them quench their thirsts. As always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated. Now onto the base. Semper Fi. Manny

Proud Kraut Posted July 8, 2019 Share #59 Posted July 8, 2019 Manny, I just returned from summer holidays and found your tank crew nearly completed. Amazing work, your figures on the tank turret do look very realistic. WOW!

ArtyScout Posted July 13, 2019 Author Share #63 Posted July 13, 2019 Hey Guys, thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them. Since everyone is in agreement with the figures positioning I set them down permanently like you see them. I started on the base and foliage and I'll post some more pics later. Thanks again. ArtyScout Posted July 21, 2019 Author Share #64 Posted July 21, 2019 Well this diorama's title fits perfectly with how hot it was today and will be tomorrow. But its finished. My only concern is that I probably made the palm tree too tall. Anyway, now that this vignette is finished, I'm debating which will be my next project. I'll figure it out. Enjoy and always all comments and critiques are greatly appreciated. Semper Fi. Manny

Old Marine Posted July 21, 2019 Share #66 Posted July 21, 2019 You nailed it, those Marines look hot and sweaty. A great model.
Proud Kraut Posted July 21, 2019 Share #67 Posted July 21, 2019 Just returned from my beloved Tyrolese alps where it was (too) hot as well and found your dio completed. Well done, Manny. I don't know what I do admire more. The Marines or the painting of the tank? Thanks for sharing this project. Lars P.S.: My next model will be "water based". If you are thinking about your next project why not realizing something with water as well?
